CVS 101

When you checkout at CVS, make sure when your total comes up you follow this procedure:

1. give cashier your $ off/$or More ex($4 off $20 or More)
2. manufacturer coupons
3. ECB's

This will ensure you use those $ off CRT's and get maximum savings.

CVS Coupon Policy

CVS accepts manufacturer's coupons.

CVS also issues their own store-specific coupons.

You can receive CVS store only coupons thru email, your cvs account or at the bottom of your receipts. You may find in the store tear off coupons. (These are generally found in the cosmetic aisles). Also in the front of the store beside the weekly ad display is the monthly Extra Value Book. It has coupons as well as ECB offers. CVS coupon policy allows for the use of one manufacturer and one CVS coupon on the same item.

Shopping At CVS - CRT Coupons

CRT coupons - These are the additional coupons you may receive in addition to ECB's.

Most of the time a CRT coupon is printed for $3 off $15 or More/$4 off $20 or More. Sometimes they may be specific ex. $2 of purchase of Listerine. These coupons can be combined with manufacturers coupons. CRT coupons and ECB's are linked to your specific CVS card. Which means you will have to have your card to be able to use the coupons.

Spring Cleaning

We all know that there is an emphasis on trying to go "Eco-Friendly" this year. I have found these from The Spring Cleaning Guide, they are products that are budget friendly and really do the job. I hope you find these useful and Happy Spring Cleaning!

Homemade glass and window cleaner
Ingredients:
1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vinegar

Combine ingredients into a spray bottle, and voila – homemade Windex!

Homemade furniture polish
Ingredients
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup lemon juice

Use a soft cloth and rub into your woodwork, wooden furniture and other wooden household items. It’s DIY Pledge!

Homemade Multi-purpose Surface Cleaner
Ingredients
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup water

Homemade Abrasive Cleanser
Ingredients
3 Parts Baking Soda
1 Part Water
Baking Soda is great as an abrasive cleanser. Combine it with dish detergent for a great stovetop cleaner and extra cleaning power.

Bonus Tips: Cleaning Powers of Vinegar

White vinegar is great for cleaning everything: whirlpool tub jets, soap scum, electric stove tops and it gets the "gunk" out of any clogged lotion or soap pump. Use it in your dishwasher as a homemade rinse agent to make glassware sparkle. Use it to clean your coffee maker by running it through with a vinegar mix once, then water.

The Vinegar Solution
1 part vinegar
2 parts water

Plus: For cleaning pipe sludge and stubborn drains, use vinegar and baking soda to clear those clogs and help create a much more pleasant odor. Here’s how: Pour baking soda down the clogged drain, followed by white vinegar, then boiling water. Your pipes should become unclogged in no time! * Do NOT use this method after you’ve already used a store-bought chemical based drain cleaner.

Internet Printables

Internet Printables — Where do I go to find them and is it worth it? There are many places to find internet printable coupons, There really is not a simple place to go to get them. I have found a few places that you may go:
afullcup.com
grocerysmarts.com
boxtops4education.com
pinchingyourpennies.com
couponsuzy.com

If you have any additional sites that offer Internet Printables please let everyone know. When you find them, always print them immediately!!! The reasons are:

1. Many coupon offers have a print limit. Once that limit is reached they will end the offer and the coupons won't be available to print anymore.

2. What are the chances you will be able to find the link to the coupon when you need it?

3. How likely are you to buy the product if you have a coupon

Checkout Experience

Checkout Experience

Be organized when you get to the checkout lane. This will make your shopping experience more pleasant and make things go more smoothly. I place all the coupons in a zipper pencil pouch while I am shopping so I will be ready at checkout time. It works for me. I suggest a method that will work for you and you won't get frazzled at checkout.

Get familiar with a cashier or two, this helps the process, they will be familiar with your couponing and will know what to expect which will make this transaction easier. Try not to go to the grocery store during busy hours. The cashiers will not be as stressed if there is not a long line behind you.

Figure out what the best way to give the coupons to the cashier is. I like to give them all at the end. It makes for an easier transaction for me. Some like to give them when the cashier rings up the item.

Get rainchecks. I keep a pen & notepad handy to jot down sale items that I want a raincheck for so I don't forget when I checkout.

If you have any experiences that work for you, please let us know.

Get Organized

Next Step is to get ORGANIZED ................

Now that you have started gathering coupons you will need to get ORGANIZED! This is the most important part of your couponing wealth. You will become very discouraged and if you are not properly organized. You will see.

There are so many different ways to organize your coupons. I personally recommend a binder method.

Binder method - Category. I have organized by products by category. I highjacked my husbands baseball card holders and insert coupons in them. I can see what the product is, expiration, and amount all in one look. This is more time consuming at home. Every Sunday night, after kids are to bed, I sit in front of the TV catching up on my favorite shows and organize my coupons. (So I spend as little time in the grocery store.) Shopping with children I find this the best method. The upside of this method is that you can quickly go through your coupons at the grocery store. Most coupon sites tell you which coupon to use with the date it came out, so I can go to that week and flip through them until I find the one I need. This method works for me, because I like to clip as I go at the grocery store. So, once I put my product in the cart, I cut the corresponding coupons and put them in a separate envelope.

Binder method - week. Each week you pull inserts apart and group by page. Then I put each page in it's own page protector. This method allows you to clip as you go at the grocery store. Most coupon sites tell you which coupon to use with the date it came out, so you can go to that week and flip through them until I find the one you will need. This method is not so time consuming up front but you will take additional time at the grocery store clipping.
Boxes. You can use anything from a carry all file box, shoe box, recipe box. This method is good, because you can choose a size that will work for you. You can select a size that will accomodate what you want. Then, use tab dividers to separate your categories or separate by the weekand then cut, clip and sort your coupons within each category. Make sure each index divider is tabbed so you can mark the sections.

Coupon organizer. These are great when you are just starting out and not have alot of coupons. You can shove this in your purse and always have them when you need them. The downside is that it doesn't hold many coupons and will become combersome when you begin to accumulate more. It is also hard to see what coupons you have and find it tough to flip through in the store.
There are many different ways to organize. The best way is to pick out what works for you. Please submit any different ways you organize your coupons and what works for you. We would love to see what you can do.

Where to Begin

Where to Begin.....

ACCUMULATE COUPONS
The first step to couponing is to start accumulating coupons. The first source of coupons is the Sunday newspaper. There are usually 2 inserts in each paper and sometimes include extra inserts from Proctor & Gamble. It is great to get multiple copies of newspaper. This is where you will need to begin:

1. Subscribe to multiple copies.

2. Family, friends, and neighbors are a great way to get multiple copies.

3. If there is a special on a product you want to stock up on, you can buy coupons on Ebay for very cheap. Just be sure to buy early in the week, and communicate with the seller so they know your timeline before you buy.

4. You can also ask a convenience store that you go to often if they would be willing to save their Sunday Newspapers for you once they are done selling them. Most gas stations in the Boise area sell Sunday papers all week, so you could go pick them up on Saturday night.

There are a few other sources to find coupons:

1. Internet Printables (IP's) - There are too many ssites to list...I will try to post any great ones I find. Also a great place to find them is grocerysmarts.com.

2. You can also find coupons in the grocery store. There are 3 different places in the grocery store.
The small red machines set up along the shelves in the stores. These machines are called blinkies.
Coupons on products (these are known as peelies).
Tear off Coupons are located on an aisle or endcaps.

3. Coupon Swapbox - this is a box set up where couponers place the coupons they don't use in the box for others to go through them to see if there is something they may be able to use. This is something that you may be able to do as well. A great location is churches, daycares, libraries, etc.
We are posting anything we find for free!!!

We encourage you to post free stuff as well. We look forward to your posts.
